What Constitutes a Voter Grievance?
A voter grievance refers to any legitimate impediment, procedural delay, or administrative error that hinders an eligible citizen from exercising their democratic franchise. Under Indian electoral jurisprudence, common grievances include:
- Electoral Roll Omissions:Names removed or absent from the current voter list without prior formal notice or field verification.
- EPIC Data Discrepancies:Spelling errors in citizen names, father/husband names, incorrect date of birth, or illegible photos.
- Polling Booth Inaccessibility:Absence of ramps, wheelchairs, drinking water, or excessively long queues without shade for elderly voters.
- EVM / VVPAT Malfunctions:Discrepancies during voting or delays caused by faulty voting machinery during polling hours.

- Form 6: New registration or inclusion after deletion.
